Do you set New Year Resolutions?  This time of year, the internet is full of suggestions and bold advice about starting fresh for the new annum.  Let me join the crowd with these three simple, yet effective concepts for you and the people in your work life.

1. LOVE Your Team – It’s not just about flowers and warm fuzzies.  Love means being kind, encouraging, and respectful.  Honor and support the person you call the boss.  Inspire, motivate, and mentor the teammates under your direction.  Look for ways to compliment and thank your team.   
2. Don’t Hold Grudges – Nothing ruins a team as much as resentment and animosity.  The proverb is true: “Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.”  A grudge doesn’t make you strong; it makes you bitter.  Holding a grudge is letting someone live rent-free in your head!  
3. Show Up Every Day – Be present.  Really engage.  Arrive on time, fully prepared to jump into the day’s challenges with intention and enthusiasm.  Answer these questions with a wholehearted YES!  (1) Do I deliver? (2) Do others enjoy working with me?
